Ten Famous Walls in the World (Part 2)

vietnam-veterans-memorial-8Last month I have posted the ten famous walls in the world part 1. In the first part there were many walls that is familiar with us. Today I will continue with the rest of the ten famous walls in the world.

6. Medinet Habu - Egypt

Wall known as Medinet Habu, the last wall standing from Ramsses III mortuary temple. This wall was built in the 12th century BC. The height reaches 60 feet (nearly 18 meters) and filled with 75,000 square feet of decorative and historical reliefs

7. The Great Wall of China

The construction of this wall began in 221 BC and continued to grow until the 17th Century. Most of this wall has been used by athletes during the Olympic cycling summer 2008.

8. Santa Maria delle Grazie - Italy

Maybe you've never heard of him. But you must know about the painting "Last Supper" by Leonardo Da Vinci. The painting walls (murals) Leonardo made was made in this wall. The painting "Last Supper" was completed in 1498. Although most of the walls of this monastery were destroyed in 1943, but this one wall was not touched!

9. Green Monster - Boston

Sports lovers will not forget the 37 foot-high walls (10 meters) which are called the Green Monster at Fenway Park, Boston. The wall that once destroyed by fire in 1934, re-built and kept up to date. This wall is now built with hard plastic covered with a decorated old-fashioned scoreboard, as the memories of the past.

10. Vietnam Veterans Memorial Wall, Washington, USA

this wall is one wall is not the oldest, but at least this wall is always visited by many people every year. This wall was completed in 1982 and is made more than 58,000 American soldiers who died or disappeared during operations in Vietnam in 1959 until 1975.
