September Trail Tamers – After Hours
Come join us for the final After Hours trail workday of the season! This month, we will be at Castner Brook Community Forest to continue work constructing a new hiking trail. After the workday is complete, we will head to Schooner Landing to celebrate the season's work together.

Instructor Jes Steele of Wood Thrush Wilderness will go through the process of making the basket step-by-step ensuring all will walk away with a finished basket. This class is for any basket-making ability, from beginners on up. Join us to make a beautiful basket and learn a skill for life!

Local artists Erica Qualey and Joy Vaughan invite you to join them at Hatchtown Preserve in Bristol for an adventure in plein air painting. We'll meet at the preserve and walk until we find a spot we’d like to settle in to paint or sketch. There will be no formal instruction, but participants are welcome and encouraged to ask questions, share techniques, and socialize.

Enjoy a guided hike with Coastal Rivers naturalist Sarah Gladu, at one of our best-loved preserves - La Verna Preserve in Bristol. This moderately easy trail (about 2 miles out and back) passes through diverse forest habitats and culminates at a stunning rock formation with breathtaking views of Muscongus Bay and nearby islands.

Come celebrate the work we've accomplished, gather with fellow volunteers and Coastal Rivers staff, and enjoy an evening at Salt Bay Farm.
More Info >Weave your own Explorer Pack Basket
In this course, we will weave a 10-12” tall basket with premium reed. We will go over the history of pack baskets and what materials have been used. The instructor will go through the process of making the basket step-by-step ensuring all will walk away with a finished basket. The baskets will have a base and feet along with pack straps. We will bring a variety of color straps and even color reeds to add a little color to your basket.
