Lynsey Johnston
Trustee
Damariscotta
Born and raised in Waldoboro and now a resident of Damariscotta, Lynsey has deep roots in the Midcoast. She has fond memories of camping each summer in Canada as well as time spent on Hog Island, Damariscotta Lake, and exploring the outdoors. She values the peace and beauty of nature, enjoys walking local trails with her husband and their dog, and loves experiencing nature in its many forms through travel.
Lynsey brings extensive experience in education and finance administration to the Coastal Rivers board. She earned a B.A. in Anthropology from the University of Melbourne and a Master’s in Education from the University of Southern Maine. Over the course of her career as Business Manager and Superintendent of Schools locally, she has simultaneously overseen nine school districts and organizations, each with its own budgets, grants, policies, and organizational needs. She led her districts through significant restructuring efforts as well as the unprecedented challenges of the COVID era, guiding both financial stewardship and educational practices.
By joining the board, Lynsey looks forward to fostering connections between education and conservation while supporting Coastal Rivers’ mission in her home community.
