Anna has spent her career oscillating between farming and nonprofit roles, and finds herself happiest at the intersection of the two. Originally from Vermont, Anna moved to Maine in 2017 to work with Cultivating Community, managing a CSA for their New American farmer training program. After four years in that role, in 2022 Anna started Strawflower Farm, a no-till cut flower operation that she ran for three seasons.
Before coming to Maine, Anna participated in the Allegheny Mountain Institute’s food systems fellowship, receiving her Permaculture Design Certificate and starting a farm-to-table restaurant in rural Virginia. She holds a B.A. in Anthropology and Environmental Studies from Skidmore College. When not frolicking with flowers or otherwise spending time outdoors, Anna loves to knit, paint, and cook. She lives in Bath with her partner, two cats, and an ever-expanding kitchen garden.
