Trails: Accessible Trails

Description

Coastal Rivers all-persons trails at Castner Brook Community Forest and Round Top Farm/Whaleback Shell Midden exceed ABA forest service standards for accessibility. The trails are 6-8′ wide, with a maximum grade of 8%, and are engineered with a firm surface of compacted stone dust. Van accessible parking is available at the trailheads. An accessible port-a-potty is available at Round Top Farm from May through October, and there is an accessible bathroom inside Coastal Rivers’ office building at Round Top Farm (open Monday-Thursday 9:00 to 4:00, and Fridays 9:00 to noon; closed on holidays). There are no facilities at Castner Brook Community Forest. Please note, the trails are not groomed or cleared during winter months.

Accessibility on other trails

While Coastal Rivers’ other trails are not engineered to meet these standards, some are more accessible than others. Please see accessibility information on individual trail pages for details on elevation, slope, trail surface, length, and other considerations specific to each trail.
