SUMMARY:Community Arbor Day Celebration and Tree Planting
DESCRIPTION:*Rain or shine* \nJoin Coastal Rivers and the Town of Damariscotta for an Arbor Day Celebration! This family-friendly event will include \n\nFree tree* to plant on your own property (for the first 50 people to sign up using the form below\, one per household). Comes with planting instructions!\nVolunteer tree planting at Round Top Farm\nA tree ID walk\nInformation and resources from our partners\nKids’ activities\nNative plants for purchase from Rebel Hill Nursery\n\n*The trees we’ll be giving away are a mix of species including red maple\, sugar maple\, serviceberry\, paper birch\, yellow birch\, black gum\, white oak\, basswood\, balsam fir\, and white spruce. Trees come in one gallon pots. Most are 12-15″ tall\, but several are as tall as 4′. \nThe first fifty households to register may reserve a tree. Quantities are limited – first come\, first served! Trees must be picked up at Round Top Farm between 9:00 a.m. and 11:00 on May 17; any trees remaining after that time will be given away. \nThis project is funded in part through a grant awarded by the Maine Forest Service and the USDA Forest Service.
