Come celebrate David’s life, his passion for the environment, and the native American heritage that came alive through his teaching here in Damariscotta.
David taught thousands of school children through the DRA’s Wabanaki Education program. His kindness, generosity and skills fostered a new understanding of our connection to the local landscape.
Sadly, David passed away in January after a courageous battle with cancer. He is deeply missed and so, this spring, we want to honor David’s memory as the amazing person he was – and the amazing inspiration he continues to be.
Come join us for a bonfire, a light meal, and native flute music. We’ll share a few stories of how David changed our lives.
We’ll also provide space and materials to create a small piece of artwork to be included in a ‘box of art’ to be given to David’s family.
When: Thursday, April 6, 5:30 to 7:00 p.m.
Where: DRA Great Salt Bay Farm, 110 Belvedere Rd, Damariscotta
This is a free community event. We will provide a light meal. Dress to be outside; food will be served inside.
Please RSVP by April 5th so we can ensure we have enough food and drink.
Thank you for sharing our appreciation for David. His love of the outdoors, the Wabanaki way of life, children and family, and the land and water, live on with us every day.
