Coyote Biology with Wildlife Biologist Geri Vistein
April 29, 2015 @ 6:30 pm - 8:00 pm
$5.00Coyotes are all around us but they are elusive and myths about them abound. Biologist Geri Vistein has studied coyotes closely and she will share this predator’s life history with program participants. All ages welcome. Registration required.
Her presentation is filled with numerous visuals, and of course, audio recordings of these animals in the wild. The audience will have the opportunity learn about this resilient carnivore and the role it plays in the local ecosystem. All ages are welcome.
Vistein explained about her program, “This presentation is all about us as well, since we share the landscape and our lives with coyote. Because life on earth is deeply interrelated and complex this presentation is inclusive and touches upon anthropology, human history, ecology, human belief systems and much more. Community members are invited to come and have a dialogue that helps us all to better understand our deep rooted relationships with all life.” To learn more about coyotes go to Geri Vistein’s educational website www.CoyoteLivesinMaine.com
“Geri Vistein is an enlightened conservation biologist who brings the coyote into our mind and experience as a vital, complex, highly organized and social fellow being. I left the presentation, not only knowing much more about coyotes, but also appreciating complex issues and diverse perspectives. Geri’s respect for this top carnivore, her images and stories, fill a lively and absorbing evening,” enthused Cloe Chunn of the Belfast Bay Watershed Coalition following a presentation Vistein did in the past.
