You are invited to a DRA-PWA Unification Conversation with Executive Director Steven Hufnagel and Board President Joel Russ on June 19 at Darrows Barn at Round Top Farm.

Steven and Joel will make a brief presentation, once at about 4:15 and again at 5:15, with lots of informal Q&A and opportunity for members to share their feedback. Therefore, depending on your schedule, you have a choice of times to come get the scoop, ask questions, and make suggestions.

PWA will also be hosting a similar discussion for their members at the same time.

Unification?

A few months ago, DRA and PWA began a series of formal discussions on how best to collaborate more in order to meet important community needs: for clean water, special natural areas for people and wildlife, and outdoor education and recreation opportunities for all ages.

A consensus seems to be emerging that the best, most effective and efficient way to collaborate closely, while staying true and close to our local communities and volunteer base, is through unification of the two groups, including a combined board and a new name.

It’s not a done deal, and we seek your feedback in particular on (1) whether, after learning a bit more, you believe we’re on the right track, and (2) if we were to move forward, what essential values, culture and strategies we should be sure to carry with us.

Above all, however we move forward, we wish to do so together with you. We hope you’ll join us to share your thoughts, questions and ideas.
