Elmer Tarr Bristol Roadside Cleanup
This year’s Cleanup is on Saturday, April 22, although the organizers encourage folks to join in the effort anytime during the week of April 16-22.
For this year’s effort, please pick up the trash from the roadside along your property. For those who are feeling especially energetic, choose a section of any road in Bristol and clean that up too. Please bring your own gloves and water bottles.
TarrNation’s goal this year is to involve more children and families. Children attending with an adult will receive a safety vest to wear during the Cleanup and to keep.
Trash bags will be available weekdays from 8am to 4pm inside the Bristol Town Office to the left of the front door from Thursday, April 13 to Friday, April 21. After 4pm on April 21, trash bags will be located outside the front door.
There are 2 options for disposal of the trash-filled bags: 1) take them to the transfer station OR 2) leave filled bags by the side of the road and call the Bristol Town Office at 207-563-5270 to tell them the address so that the Town Highway Dept can retrieve and haul them away. This offer is good only from April 17 through 22.
Although not required, registration will be held the morning of the cleanup (Saturday, April 22) at Bristol Consolidated School from 8:30-10am and at Granite Hall Store in Round Pond from 8-9am. Volunteers will distribute trash bags along with suggestions for where folks can go to pick up trash. We’d like to keep track of which road sections folks are working on to avoid overlap and confusion.
If you have questions or want to let us know the section of road you plan to clean up, please contact us after April 5 by leaving a message on the Cleanup phone (207) 509-9224 or sending an email to firstname.lastname@example.org.
