Aquatic animal investigations
Spend an afternoon wading, using nets, turning over small rocks, and searching for tiny aquatic critters with guest Aquatic Ecologist Dan Boward, and Coastal Rivers’ Sarah Gladu along Bristol Recreational Trail.
We’ll explore various stream habitats, learn how to sample and identify these fascinating critters and their adaptations that help them survive, and discuss their use by environmental groups in assessing stream health. We’ll also discuss sources of stream pollution and ways we can all help protect and restore these valuable ecosystems.
This program is open to all ages 5 and up! We’ll divide into adult and family groups, and ask that children be accompanied by an adult at all times.
