maple tree in fall

maple tree in fallFall is a wonderful time of year to enjoy some of the many extraordinary trails in our area. Not only is the weather generally agreeable for walking, but it’s fascinating to observe local plants and animals during this time of transition as they get ready for cold weather. Join Education Director Sarah Gladu on gentle hikes with frequent stops for natural history learning.

Boots are recommended. We love dogs, but we ask that your leave them at home for these guided hikes.

Free of charge. Please register in advance.

Friday, October 21 – Life on the Edge: Salt Bay Heritage Trail (Route 215, Newcastle). We may not complete the full loop, returning the way we came instead.
Friday, November 18 – How Wildlife Prepare for Winter: Great Salt Bay Farm (110 Belvedere Road, Newcastle)
Friday, December 9 – Winter Woodlands and Tree Identification: Dodge Point (River Road, Newcastle)
