Horseshoe Crabs and the Salt Marsh

Did you know that horseshoe crabs have been around longer than the dinosaurs, and are considered living fossils?!

Join naturalist Sarah Gladu at Coastal Rivers’ Salt Bay Farm for a salt marsh walk. We will search for horseshoe crabs and their nest sites, learn about mummichogs and marine worms, and explore spartina grasses and a salt marsh creek. We’ll be walking about 1/4 mile. All ages welcome.

We’ll provide small nets to help us search for salt marsh creatures (all will be gently released).

To protect the health of our program participants of all ages and vaccination status, masks are required for all in-person programs. In addition to masks, we recommend you bring boots, water, bug spray, and sunscreen.

We love dogs, but ask that you leave them at home for this program.
