Exploring Wetlands
Join Coastal Rivers naturalists with pond nets (provided) to explore the edge of a fresh water marsh. Look for frogs, salamanders, aquatic insects and other critters among the cattails and sedges!
You’ll be amazed to discover how many animals live in the water. We’ll learn what they are called, look at them under a microscope and talk about their interesting behaviors – some of them breathe from holes in their abdomens and have jaws that can shoot out to grab prey!
To protect the health of our program participants of all ages and vaccination status, masks are required for all in-person programs. In addition to masks, we recommend boots, sunblock and hats (but please use bug spray sparingly, as we may be handling insects!)
We love dogs, but ask that you leave them at home for this program.
