Learn to Identify Sparrows at the DRA
October 17, 2015 @ 8:00 am - 10:30 pm

Identifying sparrows like this Savannah Sparrow is challenging but guidance at DRA’s birding program from experienced birder Dennis McKenna will help tremendously (Photo courtesy Tom Arter).
For all of us who have been stumped trying to identify little, brown birds hopping around in the fall foliage, the DRA is offering an identification class with noted birder Dennis McKenna. The program will be held Saturday, October 17 from 8:00 to 10:30 a.m. It meets at DRA’s Great Salt Bay Farm at 110 Belvedere Road, Damariscotta.
McKenna will teach birders of all levels the finer details of how to identify those frequently confusing sparrows in fall plumage. The group will also walk to a marsh to identify ducks in migration. Binoculars and field guides will be available to borrow for the class. Preregistration is required.
