Learning to recognize the native species in our midst is the first step in advocating for their preservation. Heather will introduce participants to wildflowers, ferns, shrubs, and trees native to Maine. Learn which are edible, which have medicinal properties, or practice unusual reproductive strategies. Heather will discuss which species are adaptable to gardens and developed landscapes, and cover threats to their survival. Meet at Dodge Point.
