November Trail Tamers

November 16 @ 9:00 am - 11:00 am
volunteers with loppers on the trail

Come join the last Trail Tamers of the season!

We’re looking for volunteers to join us on Sunday, November 16th from 9:00 – 11:00am for our last Trail Tamers workday of the year. This month, we’re partnering with the Six Rivers chapter of the New England Mountain Bike Association (NEMBA) to work on the mountain biking loop at Castner Brook Community Forest.

Earlier this fall, we completed the first portion of our Castner Brook project — a 950 ft accessible, all-persons trail ending at the brook. Now, we’re excited to keep the momentum going and put in some much needed structures on the mountain bike portion of the trail, which begins after the brook crossing. The work will include hauling lumber short distances and assembling bridging on-site.

We will meet at the Castner Brook parking lot located on Piper Mill Rd in Damariscotta.

Arrive early for a little fuel—hot coffee and donuts will be waiting at the trailhead at 8:30 a.m. to kick off the morning right!

As with all Coastal Rivers workdays, safety is the top priority. Please bring water, work gloves, and sturdy footwear; we’ll provide all tools needed.

Please RSVP by emailing Bell Moroney at bmoroney@coastalrivers.org
