Come join the Trail Tamers!
We are looking for volunteers to join us on Thursday, October 23rd from 1:30 – 3:30pm for our monthly Trail Tamers workday.
This month, we’re teaming up with our friends at Mexicali Blues to work on an exciting new trail linking the Mexicali Blues headquarters on Rte. 1 to the Marsh River Bog trail system. This trail connector will also eventually serve as Coastal Rivers’ new trailhead for Marsh River Bog, allowing easier and better access to the preserve.
The majority of the trail is being constructed by Kennebec Trail Company, an amazing local trail building firm. We will contribute to the work by clearing brush and debris, cutting back vegetation, and potentially helping on the trail corridor.
We will meet at the Mexicali Blues parking lot, located at 565 U.S. Rte 1 in Newcastle.
As with all Coastal Rivers workdays, safety is the top priority. Please bring water, work gloves, and sturdy footwear. We’ll provide all tools needed, but feel free to bring your favorite pair of loppers or hand saw!
