DESCRIPTION:Registration is full for this workshop.\nBe the first to hear about upcoming events at Coastal Rivers – SIGN UP FOR OUR ENEWS. \nBringing Back an Old Orchard with MOFGA\nInstructor Phil Norris will employ various methods to demonstrate proper pruning of trees that have been unmanaged. This class differs from MOFGA’s usual pruning classes in that the trees we will be working with are older and have not been pruned in a long time. \nWelcome/intro and lunch will take place at Coastal Rivers’ Denny Conservation and Education Center while the pruning will happen at the neighboring Whaleback Shell Midden State Historic Site. \nParticipants should dress warmly and bring their pruners\, loppers\, saws and a bag lunch. \nPhil runs a pruning crew every spring in the Blue Hill area and is the orchardist at Clayfield Farm in East Blue Hill. He is also an experienced technical climber.
