Ponders Gathering: Biscay, Paradise (Muddy), and Boyd Ponds
August 23, 2021 @ 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm
FreePond updates and potluck social
Join us for an informational “ponders” gathering for Biscay, Paradise (Muddy), and Boyd Ponds, followed by a potluck social. You do not need to live on any of the ponds to attend – anyone who cares about water quality in our local lakes and ponds is welcome!
Sarah Gladu, Director of Education and Citizen Science at Coastal Rivers, will share updates about the LakeSmart program, Invasive Plant Patrol, courtesy boat inspections, water quality, and Maine Audubon’s Annual Loon Count and Lead Tackle Exchange programs.
There will be opportunities for discussion or questions about any pond-related conservation topic. Sarah will also be able to offer recommendations about how you can help protect water quality and promote healthy fresh water ecosystems on your own property.
If you cannot make the meeting for the pond you live on, feel free to attend one of the other events on August 24 (Pemaquid Pond north and Duckpuddle Ponds) or August 31 (Pemaquid Pond south and McCurdy Ponds).
Health and Safety: We’ll be gathering outdoors at Coastal Rivers Salt Bay Farm. Coastal Rivers requires that all participants be fully vaccinated against Covid-19.
Rain date: There is no rain date scheduled for this program.
