Event description

Newcastle resident Justin Wood started out tapping 5 trees, and is now up to over 1,100. You’ll find he is passionate about sugaring and enthusiastic about sharing his knowledge and experience.

Justin will take us on a guided tour of the tap lines (optional) and through the sugar shack to learn about the sugaring process and see the evaporator in action. You’ll have an opportunity to sample fresh maple syrup, learn various ways maple syrup can be used, and ask questions.

If time allows, Justin may include a “taffy on the snow” activity for the kids (and young at heart.)

Boots are recommended for those interested in walking the tap lines.

We’ve set an alternate date of March 8 if conditions are poor. We will contact you if there are changes to the schedule!
