Wild Encounters Homeschool Program – December 2019

Wild Encounters

A regular program for homeschool families and groups. We start each class with an introduction to the topic, followed by a hike and nature journaling.

Wild Encounters classes are held 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM the fourth Monday of each month (except December). For ages 5 and up, though younger kids may come along. Fee: $5.00 per child age 5 and up, or prepay for 5 classes and get a 6th class free.

December 16 – Birds in Winter. Go on a bird walk and discover unique bird adaptations for winter.

Coming Up:

January 20 – Mammals in Maine Can you tell a mink from an ermine? Look for tracks and signs and go on a snowshoe walk (we’ve got snowshoes available in lots of sizes).
February 24 – Winter Wonderland Go dogsledding and build winter shelters.
March 23 – Tap a Tree Learn all about trees, tap a maple tree, and taste maple sap.
