Learn and explore at Pemaquid Beach Park

Since 2003, Pemaquid Watershed Association (now Coastal Rivers) has partnered with the Town of Bristol Parks & Recreation Commission to offer Beachcombers’ Rest, a nature center located in the pavilion at Pemaquid Beach Park.

In addition to displays and exhibits, the Nature Center is host to a number of educational programs for all ages.

In a normal year, every Friday in July and August from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m., Beachcombers’ Rest Nature Center offers special programs such as educational workshops, diving show-and-tells, treasure hunts, celebrations, and sand sculpture contests. All events are open to the public.

What’s different in 2020

Bristol Parks & Recreation has completed the new pavilion at Pemaquid Beach Park (see photo above), and it’s beautiful!

A generous area has been set aside in the new pavilion for Beachcomber’s Rest Nature Center. Due to COVID-19, we are not staffing the Nature Center this year, but visitors are invited to explore the display, and there is ample room for physical distancing.
