A second session due to popular demand Ready for an adventure? In this course, we will weave a 21” pack basket. This is our largest basket. This basket will be made with premium reed and will have either an ash or oak handle. All baskets will have a base, feet and pack straps of various colors. We will also have various color reeds available to give your basket a little color. We will go through step-by step instructions to ensure that all students finish their basket. Mid-coast Audubon invites all to join for the next in their series of field trips they’re calling Salt Bay Sundays!

This will be the fourth event in Mid-coast Audubon's Salt Bay Sundays series. Walk the trails at Coastal Rivers Salt Bay Farm looking for ducks, sparrows, finches, and any other winter birds.

Guided hike at Dodge Point

Dodge Point River Road, Newcastle, ME, United States

Join Naturalist Sarah Gladu and fellow nature enthusiasts for a gentle hike on the trails at Dodge Point in Newcastle. On this early spring walk, the sap will be rising in the trees and budburst will be evident. We will look for signs of spring and talk about the history of land use that can still be read on the landscape throughout this preserve.

Mid-coast Audubon invites all to join for the next in their series of field trips they’re calling Salt Bay Sundays!

The fifth and final event in Mid-coast Audubon's winter Salt Bay Sundays series at Coastal Rivers Salt Bay Farm. Although it may not feel like it, winter will be over and we may start to see the return of birds like Turkey Vultures, Killdeer, and American Woodcock.

Guided hike at Tracy Shore

Join Naturalist Sarah Gladu and fellow nature enthusiasts for a gentle hike at Tracy Shore Preserve in South Bristol. We will meander through coastal forests, visit a woodland stream and a vernal pool, and step out on a bluff over-looking the estuary. If we are lucky, the vernal pool will have active wood frogs and spotted salamanders.

Join Naturalist Sarah Gladu and fellow nature enthusiasts for a gentle hike at La Verna Preserve in Bristol. This easy trail offers a diversity of forest habitats and even a vernal pool. Bring your binoculars to look for spring migratory birds and enjoy the bold coast. Be mindful that this is a long walk that will take more than three hours.

Join Naturalist Sarah Gladu and fellow nature enthusiasts for a gentle hike at Seal Cove Shore Preserve in South Bristol. Seal Cove Preserve offers a range interesting experiences including a fern-filled ravine that feels primeval, rocky outcroppings, coastal spruce forests, and sweeping views of the Damariscotta estuary. Join us to look at how the estuary influences the forest and vice versa.
