Blue crabs have long been a highly sought-after shellfish on the east coast of the US and in the Gulf of Mexico, and is the most valuable fishery in the Chesapeake Bay. White Sharks in the Gulf of Maine

Online ME, United States

As recent sightings and "shark tracker" apps indicate, Atlantic White Sharks are an established summertime presence on the coast of Maine. This apex predator seems to inspire equal parts of fear and fascination - and raises questions. Is there any good news that comes with having sharks around? How likely am I to encounter one? Am I in danger on the water?

We invite you to join us to hear from Kristen Smith, Community Engagement Manager with the Atlantic White Shark Conservancy (AWSC), on the latest white shark research and what it tells us. You'll see videos and photographs from the research season, have the opportunity to ask questions, and learn how you can get involved in shark and ocean conservation.
