This month, we’re teaming up with our friends at Mexicali Blues to work on an exciting new trail linking the Mexicali Blues headquarters to the Marsh River Bog trail system. Trail work will include clearing brush, cutting back vegetation, and beginning to shape the trail corridor.

Join Coastal Rivers staff and local oyster growers to clean up the Damariscotta River shoreline! Boats will leave the Damariscotta Town Landing and travel to different sections of the river before reconvening at the landing to unload.

Weave your own ash guide pack basket – FULL
Ready for an adventure? In this course, we will weave a 15-17” tall basket using strips of ash. The baskets will have wooden base, feet and handle along with pack straps. There will be a variety of color straps to choose from. This class is for any ability level, even beginners. Join us to make this beautiful pack basket and learn a skill for life!

Guided hike at Salt Bay Farm Preserve
Celebrate National Take a Hike Day with us! Join naturalist Sarah Gladu at Salt Bay Farm Preserve in Damariscotta for a stroll through rolling fields and along the shores of Great Salt Bay to visit ancient middens. We may witness late migratory birds in route to southern habitat, and visit the salt marsh in hopes of seeing signs of mink and other wildlife. There may be some muddy spots, so wear appropriate shoes or boots.

Support Twin Villages Foodbank Farm with a Thanksgiving Day 5K Trail Run or 1-Mile Walk/Fun Run! This is a volunteer-organized event taking place at Coastal Rivers Salt Bay Farm in Damariscotta. There is no fee to participate, but monetary donations of any amount to the Foodbank Farm are encouraged.
