CANCELED: Archery Hunter Safety – Addendum Course
Already taken Hunter Ed? This course will get you certified in archery hunting, building off of the standards you've already completed. You will then be eligible to purchase your archery hunting license and hunt with a bow or crossbow in Maine. Available to anyone 10 and over that has a valid hunter education certificate.

September Trail Tamers – After Hours
Come join us for the final After Hours trail workday of the season! This month, we will be at Castner Brook Community Forest to continue work constructing a new hiking trail. After the workday is complete, we will head to Schooner Landing to celebrate the season's work together.

Partner Event: Birding field Trip to Salt Bay Farm
Fall migration will be in full swing, and we’ll say “au revoir” to warblers stopping over on their long journey south. Join us as we explore this preserve’s varied habitats looking for sparrows, pipits, finches, and waterfowl. We might even get lucky and find some late stragglers in need of extra motivation to fly south! On the right day, this hotspot can yield over 50 species even in fall.

Painting at Preserves – Hatchtown
Local artists Erica Qualey and Joy Vaughan invite you to join them at Hatchtown Preserve in Bristol for an adventure in plein air painting. We'll meet at the preserve and walk until we find a spot we’d like to settle in to paint or sketch. There will be no formal instruction, but participants are welcome and encouraged to ask questions, share techniques, and socialize.

Guided hike at La Verna Preserve
Enjoy a guided hike with Coastal Rivers naturalist Sarah Gladu, at one of our best-loved preserves - La Verna Preserve in Bristol. This moderately easy trail (about 2 miles out and back) passes through diverse forest habitats and culminates at a stunning rock formation with breathtaking views of Muscongus Bay and nearby islands.

Volunteer Opportunity: Damariscotta River Clean-up
Join Coastal Rivers staff and local oyster growers to clean up the Damariscotta River shoreline! Meet at the Damariscotta Town Landing at 2:00 p.m. to hop on a boat and grab some trash bags. Boats from local oyster farms and Coastal Rivers will transport folks to different sections of the river for clean-up. The boats will return to the town landing at 4:00, where collected trash will be loaded onto trucks and taken to the dump.
