Volunteer Training: Invasive Plant Patrol
Invasive plants can cause tremendous loss of wildlife habitat, recreational and property damage. Identifying invasive plants before they spread is a critical part of protecting water quality.
You do not need to have a boat or shorefront property to participate as an IPP volunteer.

Join Naturalist Sarah Gladu and fellow nature enthusiasts for a gentle hike at Crooked Farm in Bristol. Crooked Farm is bordered by an undeveloped stretch of the Pemaquid River, and the wetlands here provide edge habitat favored by moose, white-tailed deer, mink, raccoon, fisher, fox, and otter. We'll enjoy the shaded trails and look for signs of wildlife in the woods and along the river.

Local artists Erica Qualey and Joy Vaughan invite you to join them at Plummer Point Preserve in South Bristol for an adventure in plein air painting. We'll meet at the preserve and walk until we find a spot we’d like to settle in to paint or sketch. There will be no formal instruction, but participants are welcome and encouraged to ask questions, share techniques, and socialize.
