Meet at Trailhead at 9:30 AM. Description: Begin with boardwalks across a salt marsh and follow the three-mile Heritage Trail along the shoreline of Great Salt Bay before crossing under Route 1 through a old sheep tunnel. A spur to the shore allows access to one of Maine's most important archaeological sites - Glidden Point shell middens. Pass through rare white oak stands and return to the parking lot.
