Partner Event: Talking Aquaculture in Maine

"Damariscotta River – The Oyster Capital of Maine." Hosted by Lincoln Theater, in partnership with the Island Institute and Shuck Station. Talking Aquaculture in Maine is a free series of conversations with innovators who are making a substantial contribution to aquaculture here in the state of Maine. Partner Event: Pemaquid Beach Triathlon

Pemaquid Beach 27 Pemaquid Beach Park, Bristol, Maine

Sign up for Maine's most beautiful Triathlon at Pemaquid Beach in Bristol on August 27! Compete as an individual or as a team of up to three people: Swim 400 yards, bike 17 miles, run 3 miles. Much of the race route hugs the coastline of the iconic Pemaquid peninsula. Sign-up early, as the first 40 registrants get a free t-shirt!

Showing at The Waldo Theatre! The Maine Outdoor Film Festival (MOFF) curates and presents film experiences related to the beauty, interactivity and complexity of our planet. MOFF asks questions and shares stories about how the power of our planet influences human experience and conversely, human’s impact on the planet.

Damariscotta River Clean-up!

Damariscotta Town Landing Municipal Parking Lot, Damariscotta, United States

Join Coastal Rivers staff and local oyster growers to clean up the Damariscotta River shoreline on Tuesday, October 3.

We invite one and all to join the effort! Meet at the Damariscotta Town Landing at 1:00 p.m. to hop on a boat and grab some trash bags. Boats from local oyster farms and the Coastal Rivers launch will transport folks to different sections of the river for clean-up. The boats will return to the town landing at 3:00, where collected trash will be loaded onto trucks and taken to the dump. Click the program title for more info.

You're invited to come enjoy the snow with sledding, hot cocoa, a campfire, and marshmallows. Bring your own sleds, or borrow one of ours!

Don’t let the winter blues get you down! Join local businesses, organizations and schools to take up the Winter Physical Activity Challenge, whether by yourself, with family or friends, or with a team. Between Monday, January 15 and Sunday, March 3, your challenge is to be physically active for at least 30 minutes four times a week, or an equivalent amount of time, in order to reach the symbolic goal of exploring New England in the New Year.
