In celebration of Earth Day 2024, Coastal Rivers and the Town of Damariscotta are partnering to organize a community-wide trash pick-up.
On Saturday and Sunday, April 20 and 21, Damariscotta residents are encouraged to pick up trash in front of their homes and businesses. For those who want them, Coastal Rivers is providing bright orange trash bags. They will be available to pick up starting Wednesday, April 17 at Coastal Rivers’ office at 3 Round Top Lane in Damariscotta.
For safety, please wear bright clothing and heavy gloves and avoid picking up anything “sharp, furry, or suspicious-looking.” A trailer will be parked at the Damariscotta Town Office at 21 School Street over the weekend for people to drop their bags of collected roadside trash. This service is provided for the Earth Day roadside clean-up only; participants are asked not to include any household trash.
